ONE WORD
 |
It was known that the board of geographical naming(BGN) of U.S. recently changed its position, and it renamed "Dokdo"'s status as "undesgnated sovereignty" under the classification of Liancourt rocks from previous description of South Korean territory. This is a clear distortion of history and reality.
Regarding a Korean territory as a land of no owner is a serious infringement to Korean sovereignty, and U.S. changed its standpoint all at a sudden without any prior notification to Korean government. This may sound as if U.S. does no longer clarify the fact as it is. And U.S. also can change its stanpoint according to its own profits. It seems U.S. government is trying to stand neutral in between two allies of Korea and Japan, but it's apparently wrong for U.S. to change the name of what that has been named by U.S.
BGN deliberately handled this naming, and it gives an impression that BGN supports Japan's alleged Takeshima. If U.S. doesn't stand neutral firmly, our alliance will be seriously hurt. Seemingly U.S. government stands calm stating that it's the problem of both Korea and Japan, but, in reality, U.S. befriends Japan. U.S. is raising Japan's hand. U.S. must see this is serious challenge to Korea - U.S. alliance.
U.S. must return "Dokdo" to Korea.
